With this in mind we offer a number of services each covered
by an insurance backed guarantee, these include:

Timber Preservation Treatments.
-
Dry Rot Control.
-
Survey Reports, Condensation Assessments & Tretments and
Remedial Advice are carried out by our CSRT* Qualified Surveyor.
Timber
Decay of timber occurs only when wood is allowed to remain permanently or
regularly damp. In buildings, decay is described as either wet rot or dry rot;
although both can occur together in damp wood causing many fungi. The most well
known are Serpula lacrymans the True dry rot fungus. Coniophora puteana, the
Cellar fungus and Poria vaillantii the Pore or Mine Fungus.
Insects too cause structural damage, these include the deathwatch beetle and the
house longhorn beetle, and with these a structural survey may be necessary.
Serious damage caused by insects require insecticidal treatments. Many insects
feed on damp wood and some attack dry timber and may need no treatment.
Knowledge and eradication of decay calls for carefully planned measures. With
the correct use of chemical products, coupled with good building practice, the
building will be at very little risk from further problems, as well as being
safe for occupants and the environment.
Damp
Dampness in buildings is caused by one of three natural sources: Rain water;
Water from within a building; Water from the ground.
Maybe a damp problem has occurred after a heavy downpour and new gutterings are
all that is needed. Some damp problems are not so easy to uncover, condensation
is frequently misinterpreted as rising damp, so it is important to have the
condition identified correctly and treated professionally.
