Energy Efficiency
The carbon dioxide we produce is a major cause of global warming. The energy we use at home is a big part of our ‘Carbon Footprint’, we need to start using less energy if we are going to save our planet.
Simple steps can be taken to reduce our carbon output and Air Construction is committed 100% to energy efficiency.
Not only can our Domestic Energy Assessor calculate your CO2 footprint. But we can offer the following services which will significantly reduce your energy bills, whilst reducing carbon emissions:

* Loft Insulation: Insulating your loft could save you around £155 per year on energy bills. If everyone in the UK topped up their loft insulation to 270mm, around £560m would be saved each year!

* Cavity Wall Insulation: Around a third of all the heat lost in an un-insulated home is lost through the walls. With insulated walls you could save round £120 on your energy bills.

* Solid Wall Insulation: If you have solid walls you can either insulate them with external or internal insulation, saving you around £370 a year on your bills.

* Hot-water-tank & pipe Insulation: Both tank and pipe insulation helps keep your water hotter for longer. If everyone in the UK fitted a hot water cylinder jacket that is at least 75mm thick, there would be enough carbon dioxide saved per year to fill nearly 5.2 million double-decker buses!

* Draught proofing: In a typical home 20% of all heat loss is through poor ventilation and draughts. We can give you advice and implement many draught proofing procedures.

* Boiler replacement & new Central Heating systems: Around 60 per cent of carbon dioxide emissions from your home are down to your boiler. With an efficient new boiler you could save up to 875kg of Co2 and £110 per year. Our CORGI registered heating engineer will help you choose an appropriate boiler. You may not need a full new heating system, you may just need our advice as to use your heating controls and thermostats correctly.

* Window Installation: Double glazing cuts heat lost through windows by half. It works by trapping air between two panes of glass creating an insulating barrier that reduces noise, condensation and heat loss.

There are many other energy efficient and cost saving measures that we can advise you on.
